01

Who we are

Minas Center Limited is the data controller for personal information processed in connection with the MinasPay and Minas Transfer services, unless a different controller is identified at the point of collection. Our registered office is 59 Station Road, Unit 4, London, England, NW10 4UX. Contact info@minaspay.co.uk or +44 20 8965 0116 for privacy questions.

02

Information we may collect

  • Identity, contact and account information.
  • Identification documents, verification results and due-diligence information.
  • Payment instructions, beneficiaries, transaction history and source-of-funds information.
  • Communications, complaints and customer-support records.
  • Device, security, access and website usage information.
  • Information received from screening, fraud-prevention, banking and payment partners.
03

Why we use information

We process personal information to provide and administer payment services, verify identity, prevent fraud and financial crime, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, safeguard customers, respond to enquiries and complaints, improve operations and protect our rights.

The basis depends on the purpose, rather than applying to every use of your information:

  • Contract: information needed to take steps at your request before a payment-service agreement, provide the agreed service and administer your payment.
  • Legal obligation: identity and financial-crime checks, regulatory obligations and legally required record keeping.
  • Legitimate interests: protecting our service against fraud and misuse, handling enquiries and protecting legal rights, where those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
  • Consent: activities for which we request your permission. You can withdraw that permission without affecting processing already carried out lawfully.

Additional conditions are required where special-category or criminal-offence information is processed. Information required for identity checks or to perform a payment may be necessary by law or under the service agreement; without it, we may be unable to provide the service.

04

Sharing and international transfers

We may share information where necessary with banks, payment providers, identity-verification and screening providers, professional advisers, technology suppliers, regulators, law-enforcement bodies and other parties required to process a payment or comply with law.

Cross-border payments may require information to be transferred outside the United Kingdom. The transfer mechanism depends on the destination and recipient. UK rules may allow transfers on the basis of adequacy regulations, appropriate safeguards or a permitted exception. Contact us for information about the mechanism applying to your payment and how to obtain a copy of any relevant safeguards.

05

Retention and security

Anti-money-laundering rules generally require identity-verification evidence and records needed to reconstruct a transaction to be retained for five years after the customer relationship ends, or after completion of an occasional transaction. Other legal obligations or lawful reasons may require a different period. For enquiry, support, security and complaint information, retention is determined by the purpose, whether the matter remains open, applicable legal deadlines and whether the information is needed for a legal claim. Contact us for information about the period applying to your records. We do not promise immediate deletion where continued retention is legally required.

Do not send passwords or security codes with a privacy request. Ask our team for the appropriate method before sending identification documents or other sensitive information.

06

Your rights

Right to object: you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Tell us the processing you object to and your circumstances. We will consider the request under the applicable rules.

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent. Some rights may be limited where we must keep or use information to comply with financial-services or anti-money laundering obligations.

Send privacy requests to info@minaspay.co.uk. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Its website explains how to contact the ICO and raise a concern.
