CUSTOMER INFORMATION

Safeguarding and your transfer.

Safeguarding is the legal framework for protecting relevant customer funds received by a payment institution. It is designed to reduce the risk of loss if the institution becomes insolvent.

What the rules require

Authorised payment institutions must safeguard relevant funds in accordance with the Payment Services Regulations 2017 and applicable FCA rules. The regulatory methods include segregation of relevant funds or protection through qualifying insurance or a comparable guarantee.

The treatment of a payment depends on the actual flow of funds and the applicable rules. A fast payment or a prefunded payout does not, by itself, establish that safeguarding obligations do not apply.

Safeguarding is different from bank deposit protection.

Minas Center Limited is not a bank. Payment-service funds are not bank deposits protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme against failure of the payment institution. Safeguarding does not guarantee immediate repayment or recovery of the full amount; an insolvency process and costs may affect recovery.

Information about your payment

Before sending money, ask our team to explain how your payment is handled, when funds are received and paid out, and what protection applies to any relevant funds during that process.

Contact info@minaspay.co.uk or call +44 20 8965 0116. Include the payment reference where available. Do not send passwords or security credentials.

Read the FCA guidance on safeguarding for the regulatory framework.
